Setting software parameters in Linux (DFK Z30GP031)

There are several settings in the Win7 Software IC Capture which are quite important for better image quality.
How can i set up this non hardware related parameters under LINUX, e.g.

    sharpness
    gamma
    noise reduction
    intensity
    contrast

    ?

TIS does offensive advertising for LINUX Drivers on it´s website, so when will a actually usable LINUX driver be available, that is providing same functionalities as under windows?

    Hello

You can not set these properties, because they are done in the Windows driver as image processing. In order to do something similar in Linux you need own image processing. e.g. in OpenCV or you try to find similar GStreamer modules (which I do not know, whether they exist.)

Yes, that is the difference between marketing and engineering. There are no drivers for Linux from TIS, we rely on what is already available in Linux. In your case, it is the Aravis library. Therefore, we currently do not offer an image processing library for Linux (which is the only difference in using the camera in Windows and Linux).
I am aware, this answer will not help you getting the image processing functions immediately.

This is quite dissappointing, since usability under Linux systems was a important selling point.
Are there any plans to implement more features under aravis in the future?

Well, we are the wrong to ask that, because Aravis is third party. Also it is not for image processing, only for communicating with the camera.
The functions you mention are image processing. This can be done in software in Linux as well as in Windows. The source code must be written only.

Aren't these image processing functions done in V4L2? Since it's a UVC camera isn't it handled like any normal webcam in Linux? V4L2 can generally handle all of this with normal webcams so I assumed it would be the same for a TIS camera. I'm about to pick up a rather expensive 5.0mp color USB3 camera so hopefully this is the case.

    Hello

The DFK Z30GP031 is a GigE Vision camera, not an UVC camera. Therefore V4L2 is not involved at all.
