USB driver installation problem

Hello All,

I have a brand new USB DFK 72AUC02 camera but I can't install the USB driver ( Windows XP)
I tried the attached install CD and I downloaded the "drvInstaller.exe" but doesn't work either.

The installer recognised the camera, and it seems the process was running but at the end the program was frozen. (does not answer)

It could be the camera problem or only the driver ? This camera hasn't worked yet.

First of all, is possible to post the serialnumber of the camera?

I would like to know does the computer hang, if it is booted, while the camera is connected? If so, please change into the "\Windows\System32\drivers" directory and delete the file "usbcam_206.sys" or "usbcam_*.sys" or "tis_uvc_*.sys". This indicates, that you use an old driver. Please download the latest driver from http://www.theimagingsource.com/en_U...ort/downloads/ and try again.

Maybe the problem is caused by using an older driver with a new camera. After the driver is installed, it tries to communicate with the camera. Using an old driver with a new camera can lead into an endless loop and the computer hangs totally. This was fixed in driver version 2.1.5.

Hello Stefan,

you are right the old camera driver would be the problem
1. I deleted the "usbcam_211.sys" and "tis_uvc_1221.sys" files from the windows system directory
2. I run the start the driver installer program
3. I connected the camera when the installer asks
the istallation was sucsesfull and the camera working well now
