Corrupt AVIS

Hi All,

I've had an issue lately with corrupt AVIs. They caused Windows Explorer to crash.the only way I could resolve the issue was to download universal explorer and delete the files.

The camera is a DFK 21AU618.AS, I was using IC capture running at 60FPS with the Y800 codec.

The laptop is running Windows XP Pro, it's a dual core processor with 2GB of RAM.

Any thoughts?

Hello Will,

Do you have the exact steps of what you did to receive the damaged AVI files? We need to reproduce them in order to catch the problem. If we can not reproduce the problem, we can not fix anything.

Hi Stefan,

It was just a normal session. IC Capture is version 2.2, as described the codec was set to Y800 and I was capturing at 60fps. The I was imaging Jupiter at the time, so the length of the capture wouldn't have been more than 2 minutes.

The camera was fine beforehand, and is fine now, but those captured AVIs were corrupt.

I'm going to re-install IC capture anyway, along with the drivers.

A bit of an odd one I'm afraid.

Thank you for your replay. If we do the same on our computers, we have no problems at all. We did many tests. However:
Which Windows version do you use?
Maybe you can create a new AVI and document the steps you do, e.g. which buttons are pressed, which selections are done. This would be very helpful.
