How i must setup the program IC Capture to grab some images of deepsky objects? I haven't find instructions to the user guide. I have a DBK firewire camera

    Thanks

    Luca,

Take a look at the specs on some of the pictures on http://www.makina.it/SAA/DSO-(DMK+DBK).html for settings.

Also, http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/DMKCCD-cameras/ is a great source of information on all IS cameras.

I use a DBK41 for lunar and some DSO work. Play with the settings. Use the minimum gain and lots of exposures (100-200) at 30sec to 1min. Be sure to shoot darks for the same settings. Nice to shot flats as well if you have any vignetting or dust problems.

I capture individual frames NOT video for DSO's; much easier to process in something like ImagesPlus, Registax, Deep Sky Stacker, etc.

    Enjoy!

I normally use BY8... Output codec doesn't matter since I'm capturing images not video.
