Does your class library support unicode build?

Hello,

IC Imaging Control does not support unicode strings. All string parameters are ANSI strings. Unicode strings have to be converted to ANSI before they can be used with IC.

DirectX has Unicode support built in. Since IC is a wrapper of DirectX, it would be very easy to build a Unicode version. I do not understand why not. Maybe you use the string class from STL, which doesn't support Unicode ?

Hello,

Please explain the boundary conditions of your project that requires Unicode strings for the interaction with IC. This would put us in a position to find a solution.

Best regards

We have our application built in Unicode. Since this will also be part of our application, we need to build the image capturing part in Unicode as well. In NTFS, Unicode is native to the OS. The Unicode built applications will run faster since the OS does not have to convert the strings into Unicode at run time.

Hello,

All operations where strings are involved are not time critical. Therefore, there is no drawback with regards to system performance, if Unicode strings have to be converted to c strings and the other way round.
