DFW-V500 Auto exposure

I'm curious what determines the setting level for an Auto Exposure?

When I set Auto Exposure to True, it seems to do a very good job of maintaing a consistent exposure, but it's way to day for my purposes.

The Sony Techinical manual for this camera shows a register called "Auto Exposure" that is described: "Adjust the exposure compensation of Auto Exposure". Is this what controls the setting

If so, I do not see that this is exposed in the ActiveX control. Am I missing something?

Hello Jeff,

Sony's WDM driver provides no methods to set an auto exposure compensation. To make the video image brighter, you may use the gain. In the Sony DCam Demo application this is the "Contrast" property. But with a higher gain, the noise in the video image will be heightened.
