limitations

i am trying to upgrade an application that initially used webcams as an input source - recording fairly compressed 320x240 video in real time.
I now need to include better quality video - i was hoping for 1024x768 resolution at about 10 frames per second (using firewire port)

is it even feasible to attmpt this

(the AVI file stored must be compressed as it will run for around 6hrs at a time)

Hello,

You have to find the best compromise between image quality and frame rate. There aer a lot factors that have to be taken into account:

- processor speed
- codec
- video format and frame rate of the video device.
- caüabilities of the hard disk system

I am afraid, you have to test it on your system.
