Sony DFW-X700 resolutions

I am using the latest Sony Add-on driver with the above camera and notice that when I change image resolution from 1024x768 to 800x600 the image does not change size with respect to its center.

It would appear that the image resize simply crops from two of the edges rather than extract a smaller image window from the CCD center.

The Sony technical manual lists Electronic Pan as a camera function but in the Sony Demoapp this appears greyed out on the image settings dialog.


Is there anything special I need to do when changing resolution to maintain the image center ?

we tested the different video formats provided by the DFW-X700 and found out the following:

1) the top left pixel of all formats has the same location on the chip.
2) 640x480 and 800x600 use just a part of the CCD (the image is cropped).
3) 320x240 uses the same area as 640x480.

The PAN property is used to control a Pan/Tilt unit. Currently there is no way to move the active area on the CCD. It would not help much because the magnification not the same for 1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480.
