We use a vb application to capture video in to bmps. Whenever we move the video camera or when the subject moves, it blurs the image temporarily before restoring. If the subject moves very slowly this won't happen. We are using win xp and sony dcr- trv11. We tried with a olympus video camera also. We tried to increase the frame rate as well as the buffer size. Any other suggestions ? We use your fire wire converter.

Hello,

DV (Digital Video ) is an interlaced video format. Interlace video format means that each frame consists of two parts that are called fields. One field contains all odd lines (line 1,3,5, ....) and the other contains all even lines of the frame. The two fields are not exposed at the same time. Therefore moving objects appear on different locations in the two fields. This causes the blurr effect.
There are two ways to eliminate the blurr effect:
1) Use only one field and copy each line to the next one (copy line 1 to line 2, line 3 to line 4 etc.)
2) Use a camera that exposes all lines of a frame at the same time. All DCAM cameras work this way. For more information on DCAM cameras have a look to our web site:
