View Full Version : DFK 72AUC02-F Video Formats

May 9, 2017, 16:47:58

I have two cameras, No.1 has firmware 146, No.2 has firmware 108.

Using IC Capture, the older camera with firmware 108 has lots of video format options.

The camera with firmware 146 seems only to have 2 letterbox formats (2048x768, 2592x1944)

I have tried a PC running Win10 and also Win8. The same happens.

This seems to be something to do with the firmware version, not the edition of Win10.

Can you explain what is happening and how to fix camera No.1.

I must admit, I can not explain that, because the cameras do not have a fixed video format list. The formats are created by IC Capture from the granularity of the ROIs.

The firmware 146 is the current firmware on this model, in use for many years now.

Same driver is installed?
Show all video formats in view menu of IC Capture is installed?
Same happens with the Sample Demo App of the IC Imaging Control 2.4 SDK?

I am running both cameras on the same laptop so the same driver is used for both.
Show all video formats is set.
The same happens with the the SDK which I have just installed.

Here are some screen shots of the format drop down lists

What do you mean by:-

The formats are created by IC Capture from the granularity of the ROIs.

What are my options? Should I send the camera back under warranty?

I am very sorry, but I was ill at home, so I was not able to answer.

I checked firmware 146 on my own. Works as expected all video formats as for your 108 firmware are shown. Otherwise I never had released that.

Please check in Windows Device Manager whether really driver 2.9.3 is installed for both cameras.

Which IC Capture version do you use? I use 2.4.

Its IC Capture 2.4

Hi Jerry

... and I thought you use latest drivers. I would like you to update to version 2.9.3 from https://www.theimagingsource.com/support/downloads-for-windows/device-drivers/icwdmuvccamtis/

This should do the job.

I missed that!
Unfortunately updating the driver does not help either !

Any suggestions? Maybe reloading firmware? How do I do that ?

I asked the driver programmer and he can not imagine, why both cameras behave different, which they do not do on our computers.

You may open Windows Device Manager and remove both cameras from it including the driver. There is a check box for removing the driver. This will also remove all Registry entries, which may have influence on the driver's behavior.

After removing cameras and driver from Windows Device Manager, disconnect and reconnect the camera and see, what happens.

I tried that but nothing changed.

I think we will send the camera back to you via Alrad
