I have been able to get the IC imaging Control functions in labview to work allowing me to view the live video from my usb camera and then have been able to grab a single image from the camera and save that image as a picture in a png format. However I want to save a video from the camera in labview. Is there any way for me to do this?

Thanks!! John

Yes, there is.

Please have a look at ICImagingControl.AviStartCapture Method at
www.imagingcontrol.com/en_US/support/documentation/activex/meth_descICImagingControl_AviStartCapture.htm

and also at ICImagingControl.AviStopCapture Method at
http://www.imagingcontrol.com/en_US/support/documentation/activex/meth_descICImagingControl_AviStopCapture.htm

In the documentation you will find also related functions.

You may also look at "Capturing an AVI File" at
http://www.imagingcontrol.com/en_US/support/documentation/activex/CaptureAVI.htm

This is all Visual Basic 6 sample code, but the usage in LabVIEW is similar.

Stefan,

Thank you very much for the help! However now i am stuck on how i can get the list of AVI compressors in labview, I have gotten it to work with Y800 from another example that i saw but have no idea what this is doing.

Thanks

John

As far as I know, the Visual Basic 6 sample shows this.

You may try the attached LabVIEW sample. (Hopefully it works, because I am not very familiar with LabVIEW)
