View Full Version : IC Capture - Device/Noise Reduction

I am using a DBK21AU618.AS camera with IC Capture.AS 2.2

What is the exact function of the tool in the menu corresponding to "Device"/"Noise reduction" ? I is giving as choices: "Disabled", 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 frames.

I never tried to play with this parameter and I would like to understand what it does before to try it (if it is relevant for my applications).

Just a precision: I am performing capture at 6o fps with De-Bayering off (external De-Bayering) and I would like to understand if using this option (Device/Noise Reduction) would affect the resolution of the resulting image and if so, would it result in a loss of resolution? I want to understand how this option works in order to judge if it could help me or not.

The Denoise function adds and integrates the number of frames selected (2,4,8,16 or 32). So you receive an average frame of these number of frames. This results in reducing the frames per second.

Thanks Stefan. I understand that it would not be an advantage for me, because I would like to get an effective process at 60 fps.

You understand correctly.
