View Full Version : Exposure Control Problem

Hello Group!

I'm using a DMK 41AU02.as camera with IC capture version 2.2. The IC program does not let me to make adjustment to the contrast because the contrast button is greyed out. It appears as if the automatic settings are all I have available. While setting up to take pics of the moon, the moon appears as just a white ball. If I could make adjustments, I could correct the problem. Prior to using the 2.2 version, this was not an issue as I was able to make all necessary adjustments. Not sure if the software is the problem but it seems to be a good place to start. I have the camera attached to a 10" f/4 Reflector scope.

Any advice on how to deal with this will be greatly appreciated?

Your title is exposure control problem but you talk about contrast in your post. Do you have a problem adjusting exposure as that is what you need to reduce to sort your problem?

Thank you for your reply. Isn't contrast part of the exposure control tools? The problem is that I'm unable to reduce the brightness to the point that I can see the object (in this case, the Moon). It simply appears as a white ball without any detail whatsoever. Since my post, I downloaded and installed version 2.3 but the problem remains.

Have you adjusted the exposure time? What do you have it set to?
