View Full Version : IC hangs (or delivers distorted images) when another USB device connected

May 24, 2012, 13:01:49
Dear IS support,

In my application IC camera LED-3004 (Not sure if customer's type-name) is attached to a microscope.
The microscope's stepper-motors are controlled via a "Tango"-device:(http://www.marzhauser.com/de/produkte/steuerungen/steuerungen-fuer-mikromanipulatoren/tango-desktop.html)

When I start C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\IC Imaging Control 3.2\bin\Win32\DemoApp.exe and set up
5MP, RGB24. Live-images is updated well.
Then I make a connection to "Tango"-device (Serial via USB) and the image freezes. Sometimes, after some seconds, the image is completely distorted (s. image). 1495

Sometimes, after long time (minutes) a dialog appears saying that IC-device is lost.
The Tango-Device operates on 9600-57K Baud well. Reducing the speed didn't help.
Operating IC with 2MP works, but this resolution is not sufficient for my application.

Please tell me, if I should provide more application.

Hello Valentin,

I think, the Tango device disturbs the USB communication, so the transfer between the LED 3004 and the computer is interrupted. You can see missing data blocks in the images, therefore the other following image parts are moved to the wrong position.

I suggest to try to connect either the camera or the Tango device to another USB controller.

May be, but I do not think so, the Processor Idle State Manager can help : http://www.theimagingsourceforums.com/faq.php?faq=ic_camerahandling#faq_ic_pism1
