Yes. Please let us know the used video format and codec settings.

Hi Stefan, thanks for the reply. video format is AV1, Colour format= Y800, Codec=Y800 (but this seems to go back to YUY2 each time I switch on. 30FPS , 1/38 sec exposure Gain=436 Gamma=139. Thanks for any help. With these settings I can get a colour image on screen but it records in black and white.. all the best. James

Please let me know the serial number of the camera.

Also you may create a screen shot of IC Capture as the user did here:

I seem to have the same problem. AVI, Y800 codec, BY8, Y800, YUY2, a variety of automatic and manual exposure, frame rate, gain and brightness settings all record with color visible in IC capture, but playing the video or importing into Registax displays in black and white only. Hopefully I have something set incorrectly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

but this seems to go back to YUY2 each time I switch on. 30FPS

I tested this with same driver and firmware version. The video format Y800 never changed, when I changed the frame rate. I wonder, what you are doing.

If IC Capture shows a color video, then AVI will save black and white.

The raw data from the camera is converter to color image for display. The converted image data is also saved in AVI, but it is no longer raw data. Therefore it is converted to Y800 (if set) which is simple gray scale only.

Make sure, Y800 is the video format. You see b/w image only, also the checkerboard bayer mosaic pattern of raw data can be seen.
Use Y800 also as AVI codec, so the raw data keeps unchanged.

Also I suggest to have a look into this tutorial:

(I think you already did, because the link is already posted above.)

Hi Stefan, thanks for your e mail. I've tried that and it works! I now get a black and white image live and record in colour. Just one problem...the colour balance is way out. Mars was bright green! How can I adjust and balance the colour if the live feed is in black and white? thanks. James

Whitebalance: Perform a right mouse click on the live video, select "Properties" in the context menu and set whitebalance in the property dialog:
Disable automatic
set values to 64
