set exposure programmatically makes an issue

I am working in image processing i have tried to set the exposure value in my program by using the setProperty() function. i have to pass the double value in the second argument but there is no possibility to send double instead of long. Is there any other function to over-come it.

But I must admit, the relation between "Absolute Values" and "double / float number" is not as obvious. I am sorry for this and will change the title.
