November 10, 2011, 11:18:04
On our machine we use 2 DFK 42BF02 cameras and one DMK 21BF04 FireWire cameras.
Sometimes when i start my program to read images from the cameras there is a
message that the DMK 21BF04 is not detectet !
So i tryed with the IC Capture Programm but there is the same story, the camera is not
detectet, always the 2 DFK 42BF02 are displayed. when i unplug the little camera and attach it
again then the camera is displayed and it works without problems.
So i tried to insert a second Fire Wire Card because all 3 cameras was attached to the same card,
but there is the same problem.
With the other 2 DFK 42 BF02 cameras I had also the problem with wrong images during live mode, somtimes
the images arte shiftedto the left, so i installed FireWire Performance Manager form your website!
Why the camera is not detectet on the FireWire Bus ?

Maybe it is a firmware problem. Please let me know the serial numbers of your cameras. Also, I would like to know, which Windows Version you use.

We Use Windows XP on our computers!
The serial Numbers are:

DFK 41AF02: 1302C58912
DFK 41BF02: 120311D411
DMK 21BF04: 12019C24B0

After a lon term test the problem with the shifted images should be solved.
I added pGrabber->setPauseLive( false ) bofore snapImages
and pGrabber->setPauseLive( true ) after snapImages and i had no more
shifted images !

The 41 camera models are from 2005. The 21 camera is more recent from 2010.

We may try to update the 41 cameras, but a firmware update is always a risk.

I wonder, why this problems shows up now and did not last year. Did you change anything on your computer?

We use the cameras on a pick and place machine to calcolate the position of the parts. The 2 older cameras are used to calculate the
position of the parts to pick, and the machine worked since 2006 without no problems.
The little camera is mountet on the X-Y portal and has the function to look at some little details of the parts for example labels or identification marks that are not visible with the 2 older cameras !
So the little DMK 21BF04 is an optional fpor this machine and the costumer gave us the charge to install the modification last year, but only
2 weeks ago he returned the machine to our factory and now we have installled the camera and the new software!

The DMK 21BF04 camera was bought last year. We had no possibility to

I would like to perform a firmware update on the older cameras. Therefore, please create a support case at http://www.theimagingsourceforums.com/faq.php
