Hi Folks,

as you now the development of the ascom driver still continues.

I ask me, if some kind of artificial binning would be a nice feature provided by the ascom driver.

So what do you think about this?

Further I like to now who is realy using the driver. Please leave me a message here.

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Gerrit

i am on ascom 6 platform.

i try to run a DMK41 mono with nebulosity using yor V2.0beta driver.
it fails to connect, then crashes.
similar effect when i try to connect it with PHD:
it completes the camera setup dialog, but as
soon as i start capturing it says
"exception is thrown during image capture - bailing"
no images are captured.

Is there any intention to have ASCOM driver v6 complient?

Please be aware, that the driver was developed on top of ASCOM 5.5.
And keep also in Mind, that nebulosity or PHD Guiding work with ASCOM 5 and 5.5.

The main intention of this thread was to determine how many users use the driver.
And if additional features "inside" the driver are wanted.

Hunting for ASCOM 6 compatibility is not planed until windows 8 comes out.

Otherwise the driver becomes shareware for 30 USD per License.

Kind regards,

Gerrit

Hi!
I have an Imaging Source camera and would love to use it with the ASCOM platform. Does anyone know where I could download ASCOM V5.5? I have only been able to find V6.
Any links or info would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Astro_Stundent,

please find the ASCOM 5 and 5.5 platform here:
http://download.ascom-standards.org/old-platform/

I do not understand the people developing the ascom standard and there objective in release management.

In the most cases the old standard works stable and there is no need to upgrade to Ascom 6. Even if the most

driver developers cannot or a not willing to update theire drivers to ascom. Thus there will always remain a

gab between the real world drivers and the platform. At the end the user has to face this problem.

The problem could be solved, if the ascom platform developers would provide a link to older versions.

In this case I resolved the link.

Kind regards,

Gerrit
