Could be possible to implement ASCOM filter wheel control in IC Capture?

It should be a real improvement for the astronomical amateur community. Iknow that at present Lucam Recorder do it.

At present I control the USB motorized filter wheel with an external ASCOM software.

This is my setup:

Patricio,

well, it could be possible, but I do not know, how to access such a filter wheel.

Hi Stefan,

Most of the astronomical instruments, for conectivity and control, follow the standard ASCOM

Ascom is an open standard interface for drivers. Once the user install the ASCOM platform, any program can use drivers for different instruments.

http://ascom-standards.org/

Some filterwheel manufacturers give support with ASCOM drivers (Orion, Atik, Brightstar [this three are from the same portuguese manufacturer]; starlight; Seletek by Lunatico, etc.)

If you need more datails, I can try asking some astronomy amateurs friend who are fluent in programing software.

Patricio,

First of all, IC Capture itself has no ASCOM interface. I never handled an ASCOM interface on my own. Without having a filter wheel and its documentation on my own, I am not able to write a plugin.
