View Full Version : Trigger issue

January 19, 2011, 11:26:29

I want to use the external trigger function of my DFK 21BU4.H camera to
record images with the IC capture software (version 2.2). Therefore I use
a 30 Hz square wave signal to get a frame rate of 30 fps. If I understand
it right, the time it takes to capture one image is the sum of exposure time
(in my case: 1/250 s) plus readout time (1/60 s). So in theory, recording
with 30 fps should work well, but unfortunately I got frame drops and with
increasing recording time the amount of lost frames increases as well.

Could you please give me a hint why this might occur when using the
trigger function?

Thank you!

the framedrops can occur also by C3 states of the CPU. Thus you may try the Processor Idle State Manager from : http://www.imagingcontrol.com/en_US/downloads/tools/

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your prompt response!

I tried to use the processor idle state manager you recommended, but unfortunately it doesn't work with my computer (Intel core I5-660). I installed the software and its icon is shown in the tray, but whenever I plug in the camera, nothing changes. So there is no green frame around the icon or anything, indicating the deactivation of the c3 mode.

Do you have an idea why this is happening?
