View Full Version : Problem with DBK21AU04.AS
November 7, 2010, 20:35:25
Hello, My name is Javier and I am from Leon, Spain.
Recently I am having some problems with the camera DBK21AU04.AS, and the images appear in a sort of plot, look at some sample photos:
This picture of the sun, we see very clearly the plot:
And also was slightly on the top of this picture of Jupiter
It can not be because I uninstalled and installed the divers and software, so that I'll test the next clear night to see if it was misconfigured.
Any idea what might happen? I or better repair? (Even if you have a year warranty). Not to do ...
A greeting and thanks in advance.
PD: Sorry for my bad English.

Are you using darks and flats in the processing of your images? I'm thinking the problem could be a smear / streak of dust on your sensor?

what do you mean by "plot"? I do not understand the problem.

Hi, thanks for the answers
bwallan, I do not use Darks and flats, do you think can be that the problem? but not used them before and did not happen.
Stefan Geissler, I mean pixelex appreciate that, as a half-bayer, grid, but also in color images.
I use the Google translator, so my English very bad ..

Upload a screenshot of how to configure the softwere IC Capture, and what happens when processing of the images in regixtas.
Tego something set wrong, or something happens to the camera?

I must admit, I do not understand your problem completely, but you may have a look here too:

Hi, hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but I think the problem that Javier is talking about is the very fine grid pattern that can be seen in his images. It is a lot more obvious on the image of the sun than on the image of Jupiter. Hope this helps to clarify. Freddie

Freddie, Thank you. I think, we see the Bayer pattern on the sun image, because the image was taken using the Y800 video format and the image was saved as BMP. This you see the raw pixel data and no colors. I suppose, sun images are taken in a different way than planets, also the processing is different. In this case, I suggest to use BY8 video format and save the images colored.

Freddie, thank you very much for your help to explain, giving me English is very bad.
Stefan Geissler, proves what I say, but what if it happens again, what should I do? send to repair, or reformat my computer?

Well, this would be a little bit to much :-) However, I do not realy understand your problem. I suppose, you can explain it better in your native language (Spain?) Thus you may write in this language. I will try find someone for translation.

Saludos y gracias.

Thank you for your post. I must admit, I do not really see the problem.
Also the exact grid pattern is lost by the JPEG compression, thus I can not see it.
I would like to suggest to follow the Registax tutorial from my posts above.
The camera driver will not change the behavior you see.
Also IC Capture has no influence on the image.
I am very sorry for not having a better answer.

I tested again, and it seems the problem has vanished:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us)
The picture quality is very bad because there were clouds and poor seeing, but is not found the plot, which is important.
Thank you very much everyone, and greetings!
