View Full Version : Driver Install on Windows XPe

I am trying to do an install of the gige driver on a windows xp embedded system. Errors occur:

1. get a failed to start service
2. get a failed to set service to auto
3. the file ndis_gige_im_101547.sys was not found.

I'm hoping that these are just installation on xpe problems and nothing is actually missing on the xpe front.

I know xpe is not officially support os, but it supposedly so close to a true xp os that I am hoping to make this work.

I am happy to manually try to install the package, if I could get some instructions on how...or other thoughts?

thanks, Jim.

Hello Jim,

In order to avoid error 1 and 2, you need the "Service Command Line Tool" component.

For error 3 we have no idea, maybe a network component is missing.

While you configure your XPe add all components, that sound for DirectShow and video.

I would like to point out our XPe experiences are very limited.

thanks for the reply.. I did get the install to complete, actually.. and it just seems the installer was confused about where the actual .sys file resided... anyway, I am waiting on gige network card, as all I have now is a 10/100 card, and keep getting device lost errors when launching image capture...
