Unable to play AVI

I don't have a camera, but a friend sent me an astronomy AVI made on a DMK41.

Although I have DirectX 11, I am unable to play the AVI in the Window Media Player (on 64-bit Windows 7)

I'm not familiar with Imaging Source products. Do they require a special codec?

Is the codec available for download and installation even if I don't own a camera?

Hello,

To make things easy, simply install IC Capture Trial. It will install the necessary DirectShow filters, so the media player will display the video (i hope). The download is at http://www.imagingcontrol.com/en_US/downloads/trials/

I confirm that, with IC Capture simply installed and without any other special codec pack, Windows Media Player on Windows 7 64 bit can read the AVI files coming from a DMK41, no problem at all.
