View Full Version : Capturing null images

I am currently using the 4ch PCIe grabber. As of late I have noticed that during a recording session, the grabber will occassionally generate empty files that contain no image data. Essentially a null image.

I am using my own app that writes images to the HDD using

routine at 33ms interval synchronized by the system clock. In a long image stream of about 100K images, these null images randomly poppup (may be 10-15 in total). They have the correct file size (901KB for VGA) and filename including the timestamps however they contain no image data which causes problems to batch processing apps that encounter them.

Any suggestions on how I can reduce this effect?

An completely black image means, the image buffer provided by the driver is completely filled with 0s. Do you start the grabber only once and capture later using MemorySnapImage or use the ImageAvailable event?
