USB camera max cable length?

Hello all!

I'm going to buy a IS camera (in few weeks, at most few months) but I'm already planning my setup. I just want to know two things:


What's the length of the USB cable?
How can it be extended? HUB? Will it work?


Please, any comments about this will be greatly appreciated! :-)

The cable supplied with my DMK21AUO4 is 5 feet.
Because of the way my equipment is set up I have to use a 10 foot USB extension cable.
I haven't noticed any problems.

I suggest a maximum cable length of 3.5 m.

I think it's always best to use the shortest possible USB cable.
I know there are special cable set ups for long distances, but I never have looked into them.
Also I think it would pay to buy the highest quality cables possible.
