extension cable

hello i have just purchased a DFK 31AU03.AS Colour all going well until i tried to use a longer usb cable extender and the camera wont start up ,is there any way of getting a longer cable to work ,about 5 mt in length ,perhaps a usb 2.0 powered hub is needed ?

Hi,

a longer USB cable is a little bit ctritical, but I guess active hubs can solve the problem. I never tried this on my own.
