How does the de-noise option work on DMK cameras??

I know what noise-reduction is and what dark frames are for.

I need to know how the noise-reduction option is implemented in DMK cameras.

Can someone tell me?

If the user selects 2-frames (in Capture Software) does the camera:

a) take two dark frames and then subtract the average from all other video frames; OR

OR

b) take two dark frames; one light frame; two dark frames; one light frame, etc....

there is no noise reduction implemented in the camera. It is done in software. It is averaging of frames. Dark frames are not used.

So, just want to get this straight, when I select Noise-Reduction:Average of 2 frames I am selecting average of two-light frames. Correct?

Pixel Value Average( 2, 4 ) = 3 ? is this the way it works?
