Problems with Registax and codecs

Hallo,
Sorry for asking a question prob. for the 50th time.

I have 2 DMK Cameras

b/w and color.

If I use the color camera with 1200/760 Registax stops after about 280 pics with "cannot decompres AVI", If I use a smaller ROI I can take more pics.

Same with the b/w camera with many frames (>1000)

Is there any possibility too overrule Registax (limited) possibilities in choosing other codecs with full frame AVIs?
Or is the limitation in Registax?

Andreas,

Registax uses the Video for Windows interface, that has a limitation of file size, that is smaller than DirectShow. That means, the file size of the AVI file is limited to 1 or 2 GByte. You may ask the programmer of Registax about this too.

And, as far as I know, no there are now possibilities to overrule the limitations.

But you should use the Y800 video format and save the AVI file with the "Y800" uncompressed codec. Registax can calculate the colors from this. Please refer to a small tutorial about doing so here:
