The application that I need to write requires the following:

1. Capture video at a predetermined rate (say 5 FPS)
2. Store video "chunks" as a predetermined size (say 1MB)
3. Upload the "chunks" to a remote file server
4. "Stitch" the chunks back together into a single "movie"

Does this component work in the above scenario? The constraints I have is that the user may, or may not be connected to the network and video must be uploaded when connected, but streaming the video to the collection server is not possible (it needs file chunks - probably FTP'ed up, then post-processed on the server).

Thanks

Hi,

1. Capture video at a predetermined rate (say 5 FPS)
This depends on the video capture device, or you could create a frame filter, that discards the not needed frames

2. Store video "chunks" as a predetermined size (say 1MB)
This is harder, because due to AVI capture, you have no information about the file size, except you would use a timer event and check its size. Please keep in mind, closing and starting a new AVI file takes some time. IC Imaging Control will not give you any information about the AVI file size,

3. Upload the "chunks" to a remote file server
This is no IC Imaging Control, thus it is not supported.

4. "Stitch" the chunks back together into a single "movie"
No, this is not not supported by IC Imaging Control. IC Imaging Control is for image aquisition, not for image processing.
