View Full Version : Black line when exposure time < refresh rate

Hello,

A have a little issue with the 31AF03 camera. I don't know if it is a problem with the ICImagingControl component...

When the exposure time is lower than the refresh rate, I systematically have a black horizontal line, that starts on the left of the picture and is 778 pixels long.

The vertical position depends on the exposure time.
If the frame rate is 30 FPS and the exposure time is 32.8ms, the line disappears at the top of the image.
When the exposure is 16.7ms, the line is exactly in the middle of the image, i.e. at position Y=384.
When the exposure is exactly 0.5ms, the line disappears at the bottom of the image.

If the frame rate is 15FPS, and the exposure time is 65.6ms , the line disappears at the top of the image.
When the exposure is 33.3 ms, the line is exactly in the middle of the image, i.e. at position Y=384.
When the exposure is exactly 1ms, the line disappears at the bottom of the image.

Here are some screen captures :

Useless to say that this black line spoils all the frames...

Any help on how to avoid this would be really appreciated.
Thank you
Sincerely
Axel Canicio

Axel,

This seems to be a problem of the camera. I was not able to find the serial number of your camera in our database, thus I can not say something to the used hardware.
Please send a request to support@imagingcontrol.com.

Thank you.

The "exposure line" is a problem of older hardware in the camera. Please let me know the serial number of your camera?

hi stefan,

its still #22600072.

the camera was at TIS support to solve the framerateproblem (case 177712).
me was told, that they had to exchange nearly the whole camera to solve it. so i wonder, that they obviously used old hardware to do that.

Hallo Sascha,

I am afraid, its a problem of the old hardware. Your camera has the first hardware revision from 2006. Thus we can not do anything about this "exposure line".

hi stefan,

thats not nice to hear :-( so i willl have to fit the exposure to the framerate to avoid this.

nevertheless thanks
