Hi
I am a new user of DMK31AF03.AS.
I am using original DirectShow capture program with IC WDM DCAM TIS.
It works almost very well. Images and movies are very beautiful:).
I have a few questions.

1. There is "Brightness/Offset" setting in property sheet of the driver.
It seems that 0 to 255 value corresponds to offset of some kind but the changes of image are very little.
What is the role of this value?

2. Gamma setting in the sheet has the range of 10 to 22.
I guess 10 means linear =1.0 and 22 corresponds to =2.2, is it right?

3. Is there any document about the property sheet?

Thanks,
SonotaCo

Hi Sonota,

The brightness value adds an offset to the pixel values. You can see this in the histogram function of IC Capture.

You interpret the gamma settings correctly.

The only published documentation about the properties can be found here:

Hi Stefan
Thank you for quick reply.

It seems the offset value 255 does not correspond to the 255 of 8 bit brightness value.
Because it brings only a bit brighter image but not white out image.
It's OK, Now I understood the basic meaning, it's enough. Thanks.

Hi,

It seems the offset value 255 does not correspond to the 255 of 8 bit brightness value.
You are right. The brightness value is a direct influence on the black level of the camera's CCD. It is not used as offset on the already digitized image data.
