1 card, 4 inputs, Synchronized Viewing

Hi,

Is there a way to access the separate video inputs on a single DirectShow capture card from different objects? The device/card seems to become unavailable after I start the first process (which in this case is writing to disk). I then have another client app which want to view the video from input/camera two on the device, but I get an error in trying to do so.

Hi,

Are you sure that your card is a full four channel card with four video capture chips on it? Usually they have one capture chip and you can switch the inputs. On those cards you can only capture one input at a time. There are special cards with four chips which allow you to capture four videos at a time, but these cost much more and are rare.
