I've a DMK31AF03 monocromatic camera. It acquires with a video format Y800 (1024x768), and with grabber.showDevicePage(), it is also the only choose possible.

How i can change the format for example to RGB8 (640x480)?
Can you suggest me also an appropiate format the lets be quikly real time image processing on frames?

Hi Daniel,

I am very sorry, but the camera only support the 1024 x 768 resolution . Other formats are not supported. Also the video format is Y800 only. RGB8 would nearly be the same, but it would also contain a needless color palette containing the gray scale values.

The Y800 format is suitable for quick image processing. Each pixel consists only of one byte. The byte contains the brightness of the pixel in a range from 0 .. 255.

You may have a look to following link about pixel formats:

I forgot: If you want to reduce the image size by software, you can use the ROI frame filter. Then your image processing has only the interesting part of the image. You may refer to:

(There is an error on this page. It must be

smart_com<iframefilter> pFilter;
instead of
smart_com pFilter;

Thank you Stefan for your support, I'll continue to work with this format.

Bye bye,
