I just bought the camera DBK 21 AF 04.AS and I tried to install on my PC.
The PC is a HP Laptop without firewire port so I had to buy a firewire card
that I put in the PCMCIA slot. The firewire card was provided by the same shop who sold the camera (Ottica San Marco), they said that this is the "approved" card.
I tried to install using the instructions but the driver does not see the camera, therefore it does not start.
It says "wizard did not find any support devices".

The computer specs are:

- Microsoft XP professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
- WinXP Patches: Windows XP Kernel Updates SP 2 -- v1.0 SCV31
- Hp Compaq nc 6400
- Genuine Intel CPU T 2400 @ 1.83 GHz

To check if the equipment could have any issues, I tried to install the camera
in the laptop of a friend, and it worked smoothly. Therefore the equipment (camera, card, cable and 12 V ac/dc adpter ) is ok.

If I look in my PC, the firewire is recognized. In systems - hardware - device manager it says "the device is working properly".
Following some advices from Ottica San Marco I tried also to eliminate the hardware acceleration but it did not work.
Therefore I believe that the fault is a special set up of my PC.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks in advance for your help

I fixed the issue purchasing a different firewire card.
And the camera is starting to work. Yesterday I took the first picture to Mars !
