Hello all,
Obviously the guys at textcontrol need to know about demand for certain things. As a dedicated consumer of their great product I would like to suggest that since Vista now has 5% of the market and that is more than the number of people who have 'Dragon' and all other speech recognition packages put together, that our users are already looking for speech recognition capability!
Vista will be the new XP which is >85% of the market now.
Vista's SR will improve steadily until is is normal for users to avoid keyboards like the plague. The future is speech.
Richedit controls in Vista already FULLY support speech recognition and there is an artile in MSDN this month which shows the textcontrol team how to add it to their control too... which beats the hell out of rich edit in all other ways.
I would also like to suggest that if other users are willling to pledge money, then so are we. We are a small company thus far but we are happy to say that we would be willing to pledge min $2000 minimum to the development costs of adding Speech in the next 2 months.
Please support us in supporting them!
Vote that you and your users would want it.
Better still make a pledge here!
Speech is the future. Let's get moving.
Dear textcontrol guys - hope this is OK... but our users really want this and therefore I am pretty sure that others will say 'hey' here too, even if they don't offer to help out with a pledge!
Say 'hey' everyone!
Regards
Adrian
