Hello,

Do I understand this well:
With the new Astronomy cams and software it is possible to save an image sequence straight to AVI.

- How do we trigger it? With a key stroke or something?
- How fast can we record?
- This new software will not work with other Imaging Source camera's, wont it?

Thanks in advance,

Fred.

Hi Fred,

With the new Astronomy cams and software it is possible to save an image sequence straight to AVI.

This is the same as with the usual cameras. The astronomy cameras have longer exposure times than the non astronomy one. The new software will work with all The Imaging Source cameras, at least IC Capture.AS has been built with IC Imaging Control.
The speed of AVI recording depends on the used computer, harddiscs etc. The new cameras (AF/BF) can capture colored live video up to 60 fps in VGA. This needs a lot of CPU power.
The BF camera models can be triggered external with an electrical trigger pulse.

At least you will finde no big differences to your existing software.

Hello Stefan,

Thank you for the fast answer (as usual:) )

But I am particular interested in capturing stills straight to AVI.
Stop motion recording. Or do I understand this wrong?

Can I buy IC Capture.AS? The trial will not work with my DFK model, will it?

Fred.
