View Full Version : Y800 codec!

Hi Stefan
I have a DMK21AF04 camera and gather that the IP software `Iris` has problems with the Y800 codec used by my camera and I wondered if there is a workaround for this please. I assume the Y800 is for uncompressed black and white images which conflict with `Iris`. Is there any other codec that will enable Iris to work with the DMK that you know of?.

Hi Steve,

I think the problem is not a codec, because, as far as I know, Iris uses the old Video for Windows instead of DirectShow. Thus it can not read Y800 without software changes. You may ask the programmer of Iris to implement this. I would help him to implement the Y800 use, if he would contact me (support@imagingcontrol.com).

At least for use of uncompressed video formats is no codec necessary.

Steve, I tried to ask Christian Y800 support two times on Iris Yahoo group but... up to now NO answers. Probably, if more than one person start to ask this support, Christian should consider this. :(
