Hi

I am currently using IC with a ADLINK Bt878 board with Y800 colour format. I have been told that I will get much better contrast if I use a 12 bit resolution. Can I change to a 12 bit grayscale format? What will this do to image processing time?

Hi Bestbier,

You would need the sinktypes YGB0 or YGB1 to handle your 12 bit image. Please refer to
http://www.imagingcontrol.com/ic/docs/html/class/PixelformatYGB0.htm or to
http://www.imagingcontrol.com/ic/docs/html/class/PixelformatYGB1.htm.

The main chapter for pixel formats is
http://www.imagingcontrol.com/ic/docs/html/class/Pixelformat.htm

You should disable the overlay bitmap. Also the live display could be strange because Windows does not know 10 / 12 bit grayscale images.

I suggest to perform some tests with these formats.

Please keep in mind that an Y800 video format is an 8 bit video format. Your ADLINK Bt878 should exposure some other formats than Y800 for 12 bit grayscale images.
