View Full Version : 0-255 range problem

May 18, 2006, 06:59:45

I have a range problem with my DFK 31F03 and IC Capture.
I try to capture the full 0-255 range.

When using the life histogram, it is possible to set the zero level with the brightness setting.
But it is impossible to have a full range 0-255 histogram.

It clips (peaks) terrible before it reaches the 255 level.
I can go to about 220-230.
Then it's like there is a border or limit, I can not get over it.

It's not the 16-235 TV range issue, because I can get the zero level, right?
Is this typical for this camera, or can I change something on my video card?
Or can this be solved with software?

All suggestions are welcome,

I am sorry, but this is a typical behaviour of this camera.

OK, I can live with that.
Can you suggest other IC models with wider dynamic range?

The DFK 31AF03 has a wider range of dynamic.

The 31AF03 is the replacement of my cam, the 31F03, right?
I can not find the dynamic range in DB on the IC website.

Can you put a number on it?
60DB or more would be ideal.
