We have experienced that our software sometimes crashes when we are using the DFG/1394 converter. When the problem occurs it could lead to two types of behaviour:
a) The computer restarts.
b) The program hangs. If I disconnect the converter the program continues.

I have localized the problem to the command "m_pGrabber->snapImages()" in my function fw1394Freeze(). (See below)

Do you think this is a software or hardware problem, and what could we do about it?

void CEasyImage2Doc::fw1394Freeze()
{
if ( m_pGrabber->isLive() )
{
m_cOverlayCallback.enableAll(false);
m_pGrabber->snapImages(); // Here it crashes sometimes!!!
if ( ! m_pGrabber->stopLive() )
{
if ( m_pGrabber->getLastError() ) AfxMessageBox( m_pGrabber->getLastError() );
}
}
else
{
if ( m_pGrabber->getLastError() ) AfxMessageBox( m_pGrabber->getLastError() );
}
}

:confused:

The last time I tried I got a blue screen and a message that the problem could be caused by the file vid21394.sys. "An attempt was made to write to protected memory".

Petter,

Please let me know the driver version you use. May be you should download the latest driver from our homepage.

The driver version is 3.0.4.46. Is there a newer version?

No, this is the latest.

In the Windows\minidump directory you will find dumps, that have been created at the crash. Please send the latest to support@imgangcontrol.com. So the driver programmer can have a look on it.
