Ball and Shadow

I'm looking for a suggestion --

I am looking for the location of a moving ball in an image. The ball casts a shadow which is also in the image seen by the camera.

Nothing else is moving.

Any ideas for how I can consistently find the location of the moving ball (such as via the MV Blob Finder) and NOT the location of the shadow?

I'd like to ignore the shadow even when the shadow is in the image and the ball is off camera...

Hi Keith,

The first think is to find the ball. Have you played with the preprocessing functions from the blob finder? Maybe you can use the segmentation threshold to extract the ball. If it doesn't work you can use the MV Color filter or the MV Lookup Table filter for a better segmentation. An image could be very helpful. Could you provide one?
