Can't place control on form in VB.net 2003

Dear Tech Support Staff,

I am trying out IC Imaging Control to see if it will work for an application that I am developing. I am very comfortable with VB6, but am new to VB.net.

I have begun a new VB project and have installed the Imaging Control, which now appears in my toolbox. I can click on the Imaging control on the toolbox, however, when I try to drag a imaging control on my userform, the hourglass mousepointer appears for a moment, and then nothing happens. No imaging control appears on my form, and no imaging control appears in my properties window. I am able to create other controls on my form, just not the Imaging control.

Using VBA (in Excel), I am able to create an activeX imaging control without any problems (and it displays images from my 1394 camera). I have also tried installing the COM object in VB.net (as opposed to the .Net framework), but I get the following error when I try to create an imaging control:

"One or more types in the assembly unable to load."

Any ideas on why I cannot create an imaging control on my form?

Hello Sandheep,

in VB.NET you should use the IC Imaging Control component instead of the ActiveX control.

Thanks for the reply. Somehow, the problem that I was having seems to have corrected itself.

While exploring the IC imaging control, I've noticed that the options for resolution and framerate using my existing driver (Unibrain Fire-I) are not so good. At best, at 1024x768, I can only get 1.75 fps. At 640x480, I can get 4.75 fps.

I uninstalled this driver and installed the trial version of the Sony Firewire driver from your website (http://www.1394imaging.com/products/software/icwdmdcamsony/). This is providing me with the resolution and framerate options that I am happy with (1024x768 at 30 fps).

Can you tell me how I can obtain the full version of this driver? Is it available from Sony? Can I purchase it from 1394imaging.com? If I buy IC Imaging Control Professional, will the full version of the driver be included?
