View Full Version : DFG/1394-1e Confusion

We are using the DFG/1394-1e with an inexpensive security camera and a Dell MCP T2000 laptop (with XP Pro OS). We are using MATLAB's Image Acquisition Toolbox with the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) 1394 driver. The system works well.

We have what we thought were two identical DFG/1394-1e converters. However, when we switch from one DFG/1394-1e to the other, the laptop says "Found New Hardware" and wants us to install / re-install the driver.

The DFG/1394-1e offers several output formats (e.g. RGB32_640x480). How does the "current" output format get stored? What determines the output format selected at power-up? If the DFG/1394-1e powers up with the wrong output format selected, could this be causing the problem we are seeing?

Best Regards

We do not know how the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) 1394 driver can be used to operate the converter. All the issues you mentioned are related to the driver.
You should use our WDM DirectShow compliant driver. We can only do support for this driver.
