I have been using ICImagingControl 1.4 with Visual Basic 6. Recently, I installed my VB6 application on a target computer and received the Error:

Run time error '429'
ActiveX component can't create object.

In response to the Visual Basic statement:

Set icIEEE1394 = CreateObject("IC.ICImagingControl")

The same installation package runs on other computers without a problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ICImagingControl (several times).

The VBasic demo software provided with ICImagingControl works fine.

I'm stumped. Help!

Hello Brad,

Please make sure, that all necessary DLLs are installed on the target computer:

TIS_DShowLib05.dll
TIS_UDSHL05.dll
UYVYTrans.ax
ovlip.ax
mediasamplegrabber.ax
MSVCP60.DLL (6.0.8168.0 or higher)
MSVCP70.DLL (7.0.9466.0 or higher)
MSVCR70.DLL (7.0.9466.0 or higher)

Also make sure that the registration (regsvr32) of ICImagingControl.OCX does not fail. Therefore all necessary DLLs must have been copieed on the target computer before the registration is performed.

Stefan,

Thanks for the help, but ... it didn't solve my problem.

The files you mentioned were/are all on the computer in either the ICImagingControl directory or in the System32 directory. When I used regsvr32 to register ICImagingControl.ocx it said it was successful.

So I'm still trying to figure out what is different between this computer and everyother one that I've installed the control on.

Best regards,
Brad
