Playing Back Recorded Video

I just started getting familiar with the IC Imaging tool. Here is the first question:

If I use the DV Video compressor to store video, how do I use this library to open and get the frames back into a buffer for playback?

Hello Peter,

IC Imaging Control acquires images from a video capture device. It is not built for reading AVI or image files back into a buffer.

How do I decode the AVI file stored by the DV Compressor Codec? That is to say, what AVI format should I research in order to find an appropriate library that will allow me to reconstruct the video frames from the compressed format?
