DFG/1394-1 with Multiple Cameras

I am using the DFG/1394-1 with a standard RS-170 camera. The IC Imaging Control Active X works well with one camera input. However, I am hoping to use two cameras. I would like to put one camera on the Comp1 input, and a second RS-170 camera on the Comp 2 input. I assume I will need to use the Fire 1 and Fire2 outputs to two diffrent built in Firewire ports on my machine (Dell Precision 650 with dual processors).

Every time I try something like this I get an error from the control as the LiveStart command is sent to grab the image from the second source.

Do I need another DFG/1394-1, or am I missing something in running what I have?

It is not possible to use two cameras parallel on the DFG 1394/1.

If more than one camera is connected to the DFG 1394/1, an application can
use all cameras only in sequence. This done by switching from one input channel to the next. Therefore, the DFG 1394/1 has two composit inputs and one SVHS input.

The DFG 1394/1 also has two Firewire connectors. This is, to connect another Firewire device through the DFG 1394/1 if all Firewire inputs on the computer are used.

To use two cameras simultaneously, you would need two DFG/1394-1.
