I have some questions regarding the DFG-1394-1 Firewire Video Converter:

1. Can I save the 1394 input to a file on the hard disk of the PC in addition to viewing it in a VC++ application? Also, if it is possible, what format would the file be saved as?

2. Do you have an analog output on this unit for saving the analog video on a VCR as well as outputting it to the 1394?

It is correct that the converter works one way only. analog video to
FireWire but not the other way! It does not have an analog output.
The SDK IC Imaging Control that comes with the converter allows to save the
image stream as an AVI file usign a codec. You may choose any video codec
installed on your system to compress the image data.
