I have your device connected and am feeding in continuous video but it's skips(drops frames?) unless I quit the photo program, unplug the device, restart the program, and then it runs fine. Does this have to do with the ImageRingBuffer size? My frame rate is running at 30.3 and I have it set to RGB 640x480? Would it be better to set it to UYVY?

please let me know, which device and hardware do you use.

On some Windows XP systems, the allocation of the interrups is different, if the Firewire device is connected at the start of the PC or it is connected later to the PC. This is mainly regarding to Laptops.
Also you should make sure, that you use the latest driver version for your device.
