I am using IC to capture images for a live video feed that is displayed on the screen. Text is overlayed and then saved.

The image size is 7**x5** is greyscale. The saved bitmaps are 1.3MB!

Is there a way I can reduce the amout of storage used, say by using JPEG files?

I am using a Pinnacle Systems DC10plus capture card with it's filter. Is there a way I can crop the outer edge of the video feed and saved images away?

Thank you for your time

Hello,

if you set the MemoryCurrentGrabberColorformat to ICY8, the filesize of the BMP file is reduced to 433 KByte. In this case, your text overlay is also in a grayscale only.

Using a jpeg compression on a color MemoryCurrentGrabberColorformat would reduce the file size. But the JPEG format has problems with text in the image. The text gets "unsharpened".
