I was under the impression that OLE support would be included in the pre-Christmas release of the .NET trial version. I downloaded this yesterday, but can't find any references to OLE in the help file. Can someone advise on this please?

Also, I had a quick stab at including a TX control in a .NET project that I'm working on, but I got a LicenseException (license not found). I have referenced TX control from my prject (obviously) and copied a licenses.licx file into my solution folder from one of the samples that cam with the trial version - all to no avail. Again, some advice would be welcomed.

Cheers

Mark

Hello Mark

1. OLE objects can't be inserted into the TX Text Control. We decided to not include the possibility to insert OLE objects into TX Text Control .NET as OLE objects became more obsolete with the new .NET framework.

2. Did you uninstall the prerelease before you installed the new trial version of TX Text Control .NET?

Could you clarify what the OLE support in the .NET version is? Our project is creating a new client where we have a lot of old data containing OLE objects which need to work - Does the .NET version do this?

Also, which parts of the .NET framework do you suggest as a replacement for OLE so that we can create new Excel object within the text (Excel is an example, we have various apps which need support within text).

Hi,

I'm adding to this thread because I've just uninstalled the .NET pre release version, installed the full trial version, and now my test project won't compile because the license can't be found (as in point 2 of the earlier post).

It is the .NET version in my project. Please advise how I can continue to evaluate the product (we currently use v9 in production but are looking at .NET for future development).

Thanks.
